Seriously. To be able to get any help you need insurance, pay full price or to go a clinic that will take you in 28 parsecs later. This is pathetic and not the jedi way. Of course I known the medical system in our country is a mess. But, this is first time I tried to seek help for mental issues. Specially growing up in different communities that tell you don’t need mental help, to deal with it and only crazy people get medicines.

When I finally decided to seek help for my ADHD, I searched through my insurance’s website for local psychologist/psychiatrist. I called around 7 different practices and most couldn’t take me because they are not taking any patients or stop doing business with my insurance. Its a whole mess that makes its easier building my lightsaber than finding a doctor who would see me.

I started searching at the beginning of January but, traveling due to work made it harder. Of course most of the time I layed on my bed like a platano reaching out to the force hoping it will call out for a doctor. “Luke! you must go to the Dagobah system. Then throw D&D dices and hope you find one”. My insurance offered this online service for quick appointments but, it was regular doctors and no psychiatrist.

Well all the sudden they started offering psychiatrist during march 2020 at the high of the covid empire. “The covid!!! the covid are taking over!!”. I finally got to talk to a doctor and it was a quick appointment. They just ask how I was feeling and why I think I had ADHD. Due to restrictions they started me on wellbutrin 100 mg twice a day. At the time they haven’t lifted the restrictions on controlled substances and even when they did, this online doctor’s company still kept the restrictions.

Wellbutrin took over 6 months to finally get rid of the side effects. I had very dry mouth that even the fountains on Alderaan couldn’t keep my mouth wet. Headache, hand tremors when I did a lot of gardening. The worse was that I couldn’t sleep. It would keep me up and sleeping pills was the only thing that helped. Although wellbutrin helped get my mind 60% there, after 8 months the effect felt like less and less helpful.
